TD Updater is a new tool introduced to Boardmaker 7 Editor and Student Center to improve the user experience of updating an application. This application has the power to automatically check for updates and download them in the background, notify users of available updates, and repair an application. With its simple design, the application integrates seamlessly across all supported platforms (macOS, Windows, and Linux).
The vision for this product was to improve the user experience of updating apps within our organization. The design had to not only work for a wide range of users, but for other teams within our organization so that they could easily integrate it into their products.
To limit the number of requirements for other teams to implement into their products, the project requirements heavily focused on keeping all updates and notifications within TD Updater to keep a consistency of design and workflow across all products.
